Financial Aid and Scholarships
If you think you can’t afford to go to college think again. Financial Aid comes in several forms: need-based grants from Federal and state Governments that you don’t need to repay; loans from federal and state government or private banks that must be repaid with interest after you are no longer enrolled in college; work study jobs; tuition reciprocity; scholarships and educational benefits.
Steps to apply for Financial Aid*
1. Apply for admission to one or more college
2. Apply for scholarships. Find them online listed on Naviance and www.fastweb.com
3. Apply for financial aid at www.fafsa.gov (form available after October 1)
4. Complete the CSS Profile if required by your prospective colleges. Click here for more info: https://profileonline.collegeboard.org/prf/index.jsp
5. Receive college admittance letters
6. Receive financial aid award letters from colleges
*Please note: beware of FAFSA.com and other websites that require a fee to apply for scholarships.
